Diablo 5 has no towns. The Heir to Westmarch travels with a growing caravan of survivors who are the game's vendors, craftspeople and companions, and the source of its side quests.

Diablo 5's first three classes are the returning Demon Hunter and Monk and the new Plague Knight, and Blizzard says the game will launch with more classes than any Diablo game has ever had.

Diablo 5's items take their lead from Diablo II: item tiers, larger items that take more inventory slots, the belt slot, gear-based sets, experiments with stat requirements, and Runes and Runewords in crafting.

Diablo 5 brings back a procedural world, in the overworld as well as in dungeons: Diablo's Dread Commanders keep reshaping Sanctuary, so terrain, landmarks, monsters and rewards can change when you return to a region.

Diablo 5 is due in Spring 2029 and nobody can play it yet. What Blizzard has shown so far: you are the Heir to Westmarch in a Sanctuary Diablo has already conquered, with no towns but a caravan of survivors, a procedural overworld and dungeons, three classes (Demon Hunter, Monk, Plague Knight) of more than any Diablo game has had, Diablo II style items, build-first combat and a different take on level scaling. Platforms, a date and any test sign-up are not announced.

How Blizzard revealed Diablo 5 on Sep 12, 2026: a teaser and the Spring 2029 window at the BlizzCon opening ceremony, in Diablo's 30th anniversary year, then the Forging the Next Era panel that afternoon.

Diablo 5 is due in Spring 2029 on platforms not yet announced. Blizzard showed it early to hear from players, plans regular updates from 2027, and says Diablo IV stays supported until then.
